Kody Brown “lives in fear” his final remaining wife, Robyn, will leave him. His previous three wives, who all appeared on Sister Wives with him, decided to leave him behind as a one-woman man.
Sister Wives follows the polyamorous lifestyle led by Kody Brown. He was previously spiritually married to four wives in total – Christine, Janelle, Meri and Robyn Brown, but only one of them remains.
Kody Brown ‘lives in fear’ of past
Kody Brown admits he “struggled with what his values are” as he navigated the divorce process with his three former wives. “I’ve lost a sense of direction for my life, I had this picture that got shattered,” he said.
He’s in a “safe, kind and sweet place” with his wife, Robyn, but then “has tons of guilt because he’s not more involved with everyone else out there.” She says he’s been “angry and upset” in the last few years.
“It’s just him in a painful place, in a place of fear that I will leave him too,” Robyn tells cameras on Sister Wives. Kody then says his purpose was “always his family” 30 years ago, as he turns 55.
Robyn wants to ‘mend’ relationships
Robyn has begged Kody to “mend relationships” with other members of his family. However, he disagreed and told her he’d “rather take some time to get to a better place with her”.
Kody told his remaining wife, “I’ve been in this place for a very, very long time and it’s hurt us more than it’s hurt them. I’m mad as hell and I’m not meaning for it to come out on you.”
“My heart is broken while I’m sitting here with the person I love the most in the world. You react with this very sweet and special emotion that you have. I’m angry out of my mind,” he says in tears.
Robyn begged him to “keep trying” to reach out to Kody’s 18 children, but he said, “I am only guilty of not falling in love with their mothers,” before saying in a confessional, “Our family was killed by gossip.”
