Catfish’s Nev breaks neck but runs world’s longest marathon three months later

For over a decade, Nev Schulman has been appearing on our TV screens as a master investigator and a professional in confrontation on MTV’s Catfish. Without Nev, there’d be a ton of online catfish getting away with all sorts. Thankfully, he’s been around to call them out on their questionable morals.

While Nev’s focus on Catfish has been all about other people, the reality TV star was forced to turn his attention to himself earlier this year. The MTV show host almost died in a biking accident and broke his neck. At one point, he thought he may not be able to walk again.

Nev almost lost his life

In August this year, Nev took to Instagram to share how he almost lost his life in a terrifying biking accident.

The 40-year-old detailed how he was on his way to collect his son from school but “never made it.”

Nev’s injuries were so gruesome he shared a trigger warning at the beginning of his social media post.

He shared snaps of himself laid up in the hospital and captioned his post with the words: “…Me and the truck. And then I guess the pavement.”

Thankfully, the star detailed how he wasn’t “paralyzed” but still sustained severe injuries to his neck: “C5 and C6 to be exact. Stable fractures. I’m not paralyzed. My hands were a question mark there for a minute but the human body is incredible and so are HUMANS.”

MTV star takes on marathon

After months of physical therapy, Nev takes to Instagram to share a huge update with his fans.

The father of three has been recovering for the past three months and now states he’s set to take part in a marathon.

Taking to IG on November 3, Nev writes: “Ready to take on and tackle my 7th NYC Marathon with @teamfrancescoofficial and @achilles_international — it’s been quite the journey to get here.”

Despite almost losing his life in the summer, Nev is ready to take on a challenge – the longest marathon in the world.

As Nev declares he’s recovered enough to run through the five NYC boroughs this fall, he plugs a brand he’s working with: “Theragun Prime Plus has been along with me on my road to recovery… I’m prepped and ready to hit the streets tomorrow!”
