EXCLUSIVE: As the Celebs Go Dating series 13 comes to an end this September, Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn sits down for a Q&A with Reality Tidbit. The dating and intimacy expert and her colleagues, Anna Williamson and Paul C Brunson, certainly had their work cut out during this year’s show.
Tristan Phipps, Ella Morgan, Jamelia, Helen Flanagan, Stephen Lustig-Webb, Chris Taylor, and Lauryn Goodman made up the Celebs Go Dating cast for 2024. The famous faces proved when it comes to love, we’re all the same. Some are navigating life post-divorce during the series, and others share their brave stories of leaving abusive relationships in the past.
Dr Tara answers our burning questions
Speaking to Reality Tidbit back in June, Dr Tara warned the all-new episodes would see the celebrities “very open and vulnerable,” and she certainly wasn’t lying.
Some of the series 13 scenes had fans in floods of tears as the famous faces’ journeys played out at the agency.
Many of the stars described their experience on the show as life-changing and many left different from who they were when the dating process started.
The show seems to have flown by as Thursday, September 19 sees the final episode of Celebs Go Dating series 13 play out on E4.
The hugely anticipated finale pool party is officially underway as of 10:05 pm and Reality Tidbit caught up with Dr Tara as she now reflects on the series.
Which celebrity had the most challenging time during the series?
I believe that’s Lauryn and it’s due to the situation that she was in outside of the agency. It was a very complex, and emotionally and mentally taxing, situation. She was very pleasant at the agency, but I could tell she had lots on her mind, and it’s hard to shut that off.
Who showed the most progress from when they first started at the agency to the end?
Stephen! He started at the bottom, literally, his date was rating him 0/10 but look at where he’s ending up in the series. Such a beautiful progression, and what a great example for other newly divorced people. It doesn’t have to be sad and grim forever. There’s hope and more love out there.
What was the most outrageous moment from the series?
Probably the romance away trip! The celebs were rowdy and there were lots of chats about intimacy. It sounded like almost everyone was getting down with sexy business at the end of the night. Oh well, that is what the Cotswold’s romantic setting can do to you.
Was there a moment you felt a celebrity tested your expertise?
Doing the sexual compatibility test for Helen and Robbie! I wasn’t sure if they would be defiant toward the results, but even though they looked a bit confused, they were curious and open-minded.
Did any of the celebrities surprise you with their behavior?
Chris! I didn’t know that he was so endearingly awkward and had tons of weird bedroom facts to share, haha!
Were you surprised by any of the couplings at the final pool party?
I was surprised that Tristan didn’t end up with Georgia on his arm coming into the party. They had an amazing connection throughout the series, so that was surprising.
If you had to describe this series in one word what would it be?
Empowering.
Do you see any of the couples lasting now the series has finished?
Stephen and David! They’re so cute and they have great chemistry. I didn’t get a chance to do a compatibility test for them, but I can see them being in a successful relationship.
