This September, Ferne McCann let the cameras back in on her ever-changing life. When reality TV fans first met Ferne 11 years ago, she was 23 and dating Charlie Sims. These days, she’s a mom of two and engaged to Lorri Haines.
Lorri, Ferne, and their daughters, Sunday and baby Finty, are the stars of ITV‘s Ferne McCann: My Family & Me. Ferne’s mom, Gill, also appears on the show. During the series finale, Gill breaks down in tears over her daughter, explaining how she hasn’t always been the confident, bubbly woman the world sees.
Ferne McCann finale gets super emotional
Ferne may have left her The Only Way Is Essex lingo of ‘reem’ and ‘totes emosh’ behind her, but the waterworks are still going strong.
As Ferne’s mum breaks down in tears during the My Family and Me finale this October, her friends say: “That’s where she gets it from.”
Gill explains how when Ferne first started school she was “really shy and quiet, and didn’t like leaving her mummy.”
Ferne ‘never chose the easy path’
During a trip to St Tropez for Ferne’s 34th birthday, she shares a touching moment with her mom.
“At her core, she’s one of the most loving, kind, loyal, special people,” says Gill through tears.
Gill continues: “There is something about her, I think you’ll all agree, that’s quite unique. She’s never chosen the easy path, have you? in life…”
Ferne thanks her mom for the kind words and also sheds some tears as she says: “Oh, Gill…”
The ITV star takes to the caption of her Instagram post to say she “can’t stop crying,” due to the fan reaction to her show.
Ferne writes: “Last night’s finale ep was super emotional…get your tissues at the ready if you haven’t watched it you can catch up on ITVX Official.
“I can’t stop crying at your lovely dms. Thankyou thankyou thankyou. From the bottom of my heart to everyone that has tuned in and supported this show I am so grateful.”
Over the past few years, Ferne has been involved in some controversies including a leaked voice note scandal, and, back in 2017, her partner, Arthur Collins, was convicted of an acid attack.
