Kim Kardashian’s ‘prison chic’ home with ‘concrete stairs’ freak out fans

Kim Kardashian’s style has changed and evolved over the years into what fans see today. Many people admire the star’s pared-down vibe and adore many of her brands, including SKKN, and SKIMS, which tend to feature minimalistic design and neutral tones. However, when it comes to Kim’s house, critics think she could’ve taken things too far, with some saying they think it “looks like a prison.”

When it comes to the Kardashians and home aesthetics, they can likely splash out with no expenses spared. Kim Kardashian is a billionaire, and the rest of the family members have net worths in the millions. Designing the interiors of their mansions is likely a mammoth task – but that’s something Kim must be used to by now, judging by the albino alligator Halloween costume she donned this year.

Kim’s home is giving ‘prison’ vibes, say fans

As Kim poses pouting in a neutral co-ord, critics are taking to Reddit to put her home on blast.

The mom of four stands on the stairs of a dark staircase as many chime in, commenting how her surroundings look like a “prison.”

More comment: “Like a hallway in a high school.”

Some fans have described the star’s home aesthetic as “prison chic,” putting a fashionable spin on the whole idea.

More label Kim’s pad as being “brutalist” and “too minimalist.”

One weighs in: “It absolutely does. Brutalist architecture can be quite beautiful, especially because (to me) the design elements work best when paired with comfortable seating and well-placed art elements like rugs, lighting and wall hangings. Kim seemed to miss the value of any of that, and instead turned brutalist design into prison chic – it’s cold, unwelcoming and barren. IMO, the entire vibe is incredibly harsh – not the environment to build a family.”

More joke about the jail comparisons, writing: “Helps her keep her mind on prison reform,” and “She’s trying to get inspiration for ideas on prison reform.”

Kim ‘brings the outside inside’

As Kim shares snaps of her hourglass figure online, it seems people are more concerned with her home aesthetic.

Some critique the star’s abode, writing how it’s “void of personality,” and “depressing and dreary.”

Another says: “That bare concrete look is more fitting for the outside than the inside.”

It seems lots of critics are in agreement, as another writes: “Yes! And this looks like the fire escape stairs in the back of a high-rise office building …weird and depressing.”

However, the star has some people on her side, though they may be few and far between when it comes to her home interior choices.

One says: “Unpopular opinion but I actually love Kim’s house. She described it herself as needing tranquility. With all the traveling and press and work she does I can see how it would be a calming oasis for her. Very minimal and un-chaotic, unlike her career lol.”

A minimalist vibe might be Kim’s go-to with her house, but her mom, Kris Jenner, compared her home to a “circus” at one time. Kim defended her mansion, saying it’s a “sanctuary.”
