Love is Blind’s Tyler Francis is getting props this fall for being so vulnerable. Taking part in the Netflix dating show has got to be nerve-wracking. Not only are the participants dating people, with the intent to marry, sight unseen, but the whole journey plays out for the world to see.
Of all the Love Is Blind season 7 stars, Tyler and his fiancé, Ashley Adionser, are being hailed as the “most genuine couple.” Many Netflix fans are flocking to Tyler’s social media to comment their thoughts on the show so far. Some are asking an all-important question as the star reveals some emotional stories about his childhood.
Tyler shares emotional story
During Love Is Blind season 7, Tyler tells Ashley how she “makes him feel safe like he’s never felt before in his life,” he adds: “This has been the happiest time of my life,” before proposing.
Episode 1 in the pods, sees Tyler explain how he doesn’t believe in “roles,” but says he’s happy to take the role of protector.
Tyler adds how he loves to cook and doesn’t expect his wife to be slaving away in the kitchen.
Talk then turns to Tyler’s mother and his childhood. He explains how his mom went through “extreme struggle.”
“My mom didn’t have much, she did her best. Her dad cut her out of his life for having kids outside of her race,” he tells Ashley in the pods.
Tyler continues his heartbreaking story: “My mom, she’s Serbian, and her family, her dad’s side, they pretty much disowned her.”
The reality TV star details how tough it was for his family growing up: “She just had her mom, we didn’t have sh**. We would have to put our mattresses in the living room and keep the heat.
“At night, my mom would cook food that was enough for us and she’d be like, ‘Oh I’m not hungry’, but I knew she was hungry. She would work all day and make dinner and then do a night shift.”
Tyler breaks down in tears in the pods and tells Ashley how his mom sat him and his siblings down at around nine years of age and told him their grandmother had cancer.
He explains how he was young and didn’t know how to be there for his mom: “She ended up passing away and the hardest thing for me was not being able to… I didn’t know how to console a person.”
Fans have one question
After opening up about his roots and his childhood, Tyler has many Love Is Blind viewers applauding him.
One comments on his Instagram post: “As a fellow Serbian, it broke my heart hearing your family stories. Hope you will get to experience our culture in a different light. Try connecting with @jibribell!! Wishing you peace and love!”
His co-star, Leo Braudy, simply refers to Tyler as “The Serbian Stallion!”, and more relate to Tyler, commenting: “My Serbian brother” and “I was so shocked when you said your mom is Serbian so is my dad!”
Another writes: “Your mom is a hero on many different levels, thank you for speaking up about the true facts about people from Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia, and bring to light a huge generational curse and heartbreak of disowning.”
Some are also left wondering whether Tyler has picked up the Serbian language after learning more about his heritage, asking: “Do you speak Serbian??”
