Summer House couple Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover were together for three years. However, the two announced their amicable break-up just days before NYE, even though they planned to marry.
For the entirety of their on-screen relationship, Summer House‘s Paige DeSorbo was very vocal about not being ready to marry Craig Conover just yet. They had totally different goals, and so they split up.
Paige was enjoying her single years
When Paige first found a connection with Craig, she was enjoying her single years. They’d been hooking up for two months, weren’t exclusive, and were “free to do whatever they want.”
She said the door is open for “anyone who would like to give it a shot” and wasn’t ready to put all her eggs in one basket for him. At 29 years old, she was “juggling two hot guys” on Summer House.
Paige said she wanted to stay single for a year and that it would take someone to “really blow her away” to get into a relationship. She told Craig, “I think you’re cool, I just think I’m way cooler.”
She wasn’t keen on marriage anytime soon
Paige never wanted to get married while sharing their relationship on Summer House. Since they started dating in 2021, they’ve had their fair share of ups and downs, but announced a split on December 30.
She said on her podcast, Giggly Squad, that she “wasn’t expecting” the split as she called him “definitely the best boyfriend I’ve ever had.” Paige also said there’s no bad blood between them.
“When I get married and have a baby, I want to be so in it,” Paige told People in August. “I would feel like a fraud if I said to Craig, ‘Okay, let’s just get married and have a baby as everyone is pressuring us.’”
Paige wasn’t sure if she could move to Charleston, even with Craig bringing her French toast every morning! They were navigating a long-distance relationship, which put a strain on their romance.
Craig was keen to tie the knot
Craig was always very vocal about wanting to tie the knot, and revealed they had planned to get married weeks before they broke up. He had told People in early December he’d quit drinking.
“We’re playing the long game. It would be easy to go for instant gratification, but the foundation that we’re building is so that we die together one day, not just make it fun,” he revealed.
Craig wanted to become “husband material” and added: “We know we’re going to get married one day, and when it happens, it’ll be a lot of fun, but whenever that is, who knows?”
