Tammy Slaton gets behind the wheel on 1000-Lb Sisters
This season on 1000-Lb Sisters, Tammy Slaton is dodging trees and hitting the brake pedal like there’s no tomorrow as she learns to drive.
She and her brother Chris can be seen behind the wheel of a golf cart as Tammy practices her skills.
“It’s scary still, but I just have to remember to breathe and not panic, especially when there’s a tree coming,” Tammy laughs.
The 38-year-old tells her brother she’s “just got to get used to it,” as her confidence is still building when it comes to taking charge of a vehicle.
Despite her doubts and fears creeping in, Tammy appears to have a great time as she rides around ina. golf cart for practice.
Chris wants his sister to push through her ‘fear’
Tammy tells the cameras she’s “proud” of herself for driving the golf cart, but adds: “As far as a car, that’s kind of stretching it.”
She suggests to her brother, Chris, that she may need a couple more “years” before she can fully drive a car.
He, quite bluntly, responds: “We ain’t got years, we need to have your license so you can do whatever you want.”
In a confessional, Chris tells the cameras: “I don’t understand why Tammy doesn’t want to necessarily learn how to drive because she knows how frustrating it is waiting and calling people for rides…”
He speculates: “Maybe that’s what it is… maybe it’s the fear of not needing somebody. Because, she’s went from basically a bedridden person that gets waited on hand and foot to somebody that’s able to go do anything they want.”
Chris adds: “Being able to drive is the last part of the puzzle…”
Sitting next to Tammy in the golf cart, he tells her: “There’s nothing holding you back but fear.”
