The Challenge’s Tony Raines predicts ‘hurt’ after losing out on m in ‘bonehead move’

Four teams of The Challenge superstars go head to head in the ultimate competition this August. The Challenge season 40 AKA Battle of the Eras sees 10 team members from different eras fighting for a $1 million prize. Sadly for Tony Raines, 36, he missed out on the cash this year.

MTV‘s The Challenge has been running for a whopping 26 years. Host TJ Lavin has been guiding the show’s competitors along each season and now he heads up the biggest Challenge yet. As the weeks roll on, The Challenge season 40 gets tougher and tougher and more people are eliminated.

Tony Raines leaves The Challenge

Tony Raines was cast as one of the 40 contestants taking part in The Challenge: Battle of the Eras this summer.

He was one of the Era 3 members, competing alongside Tori Deal, Amanda Garcia, Cory Wharton and co.

Unfortunately for Tony, his time on the show was cut short, and he was accused by his co-star of “not wanting to be there.”

However, Tony told it straight in an interview with Parade saying the idea of him “wanting to leave” The Challenge is “fake news.”

He adds how he’s “trying not to take offense to it.”

MTV star’s ‘bonehead move’

Tony’s elimination clearly hit him hard and other people’s opinions of him leaving the show certainly don’t appear to be helping.

Speaking exclusively to The New York Post, Tony described his time on Battle of the Eras: “Short-lived, but I felt like I was doing good up to that point… I felt very confident moving forward in the season. Unfortunately, I made a boneheaded move and I exited early.”

He adds: “I’m trying my best not to kick myself… It’s gonna hurt having to relive it and all the backlash.”

Now, it appears it’s back to life being a “full-time dad” for Tony.

He’s a father to two daughters and writes in his social media bio that The Challenge is only his “part-time” gig after parenting.

He and his now-wife, Alyssa Giacone, got engaged on The Challenge and tied the knot last year.

Taking to Tony’s Instagram page, fans say they’re “missing him already” following his elimination. More want to see him back for more seasons of The Challenge in future.
