Angie Katsanevas had people in tears during RHOSLC when she filmed “brave” scenes with her father. Many were bawling their eyes out as she and her dad talked about her late mother. More think Angie’s dad “needs to be protected at all costs.”
The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City ladies really seem to have leveled up this season as things have taken a turn from mysterious black eyes and jail time to much more vulnerable moments. We’re getting to find out more and more about the RHOSLC cast and Angie and Mary aren’t holding back when it comes to sharing their story this year.
Angie Katsanevas’ mom passed away
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City are really showing their vulnerable sides these days.
Mary Cosby is being commended for her “raw” scene filming with her son, and Angie has also had some tough moments to share on the Bravo show.
Speaking to Monica Garcia on RHOSLC, Angie said: “My mom was an alcoholic, she went through a lot of struggles and self-medicated… My childhood was not perfect. Thank god my dad was solid… that kept me grounded.”
Breaking down in tears, Angie explains she “had a hard time growing up without a mother,” adding how her mom died when she was eight.
“I never had the opportunity to have my mother a part of my life…” she adds.
Angie and Elektra’s bond
As Angie opens up regarding her mom, people are commending her for being “real.”
Taking to X (Twitter) one viewer writes: “Angie’s chat with her dad about the resentment she feels towards her mother for dying and Mary’s situation with her son. Real as hell.”
Another says how the Real Housewife’s story is helping them “make sense” of who she is.
“Angie’s Dad being a widowed father of seven makes so much sense as to why she is the mother she is and screw Lisa for throwing her love for her daughter in her face.”
Another chimes in: “This scene between Angie and her dad unpacking her trauma with her mom who was struggling with alcohol abuse and died early, was so real and vulnerable. I feel so bad for Angie and it explains why she is so overprotective of Elektra and sometimes emotionless.”
Angie’s love for Elektra has been clear to see since the two first appeared on screen. The reality TV star can’t stop fussing over her 12-year-old daughter during some RHOSLC confessionals.
“Sit up nicely, we ride horses… Your hair looks beautiful,” she tells Elektra.
Angie’s daughter tells the cameras about herself, explaining how she started riding horses at her grandparents’ ranch.
Elektra adds how during COVID, she “started riding consistency every day.”
When asked if her mom makes her “nervous” when she’s “in the ring,” she explains: “Sometimes,” because Angie “tells her what to do.”
Elektra continues: “It’s kind of terrifying… I can’t just focus on my round.”
More of Elektra’s hobbies include camping, playing with her dogs, and riding her scooter around the neighborhood.
When asked if her mom’s parenting is “extra,” she tells the cameras: “There are some moments where I’m questioning… the word of the day is something else,” referring to her mother teaching her one Greek word per day.
During the confessional, Angie dotes on her daughter and tells her she’s “beautiful,” adding “You’re doing way better than me.”
