Sophie Lorra from Too Hot to Handle Germany is revealing how “hard” it is to be in a relationship with someone in prison. She met Josh after she found Netflix fame, who is due to be released in a year.
The Too Hot to Handle star decided to write a message to a prisoner “for fun” – until she accidentally fell in love with a former drug dealer called Josh. The Netflix contestant is now waiting for him to be released.
Sophie Lorra met Josh online
Sophie Lorra decided to join a prisoner messaging site one day. Little did she know she’d fall in love with a prisoner called Joshua Stewart, who proposed to her after they’d been dating for just six weeks.
He started to send Sophie handwritten letters and drawings, and it wasn’t long before they started talking via Skype every day. She told him everything about herself, so she decided to book a flight to see him.
It wasn’t long before the two started spending every day together in person. They’re now in a full-blown relationship and have even had each other’s names tattooed on their fingers!
Stewart, who Sophie met while she was stuck in Dubai because a visa issue prevented her from going home to Germany, is serving time in Washington for homicide and possessing a controlled substance.
Sophie tied the knot with Josh in a prison visitation room in a foreign country, when she gave him a smooch for cameras. “You sign for and promise to each other, ‘Til death do us part’,” she wrote.
However, it’s not easy. She wrote, “People are judging your love story, age gap and sincerity while having no clue how hard this type of relationship actually is, how much time and effort you have to invest.”
“How strong a love has to be to overcome so many obstacles, opinions, distance and judgement,” Sophie added,” sharing the regular calls they have on a daily basis via video app Skype.
One of Josh’s, whose emotional intelligence and love of poetry drew Sophie in, fellow inmates, was his best man. The newlyweds now talk to each other for up to 11 hours a day!

Sophie told fans Josh is due to be released from prison in a year. The couple were unable to consummate their marriage, but they’re hoping to be approved for conjugal visits later this year.
She hopes to live with her husband in the US after he’s released under house arrest in December 2025. Sophie recently wrote, “I wish it would be the 1950’s so it would be acceptable…”
Josh was the second convict Sophie clicked on via the prisoner messaging site. She told fans, “They have tablets that have a prison communication app on it that you can make calls and text with.”
